No fraud, it's just that powercast isn't as effective as some people thought. It's still effective though. Take snakespeed as an example, it is half as effective compared to speed or senses, but still good. I guess it's the same with powercast, but we compare with magic skills.

By 'fraud' i meant that INT doesn't improve casting, and since you can practise to max in so many Realms, and all 4 Schools, there's no need for more INT to help learn faster. And because Powercast has such a little effect compared to level, i've been using Attribute points in DEX and PIE before INT. Because PIE increases the Mana pool, and adds same amount of Stamina as VIT or STR, my casters have been much more effective.
That's why i would take a PIE-heavy race and let the INT hang at the class minimum for a while. If you want to cast more high-power spells per encounter, rest (or use Mana stones) less often, and not run out of Stamina when you've been bashing for a few rounds, PIE is what you need, regardless of Magic School. |
