I found a nifty, but rather heavy (34 lbs) sword for my mook fighter. I equip it and the poor guy tires himself out after 2 rounds of combat.

I suspect that weapon weight has something to do with him using huge chunks of stamina every swing.

Are heavy weapons like this just useless? I thought about starting over and investing in vitality, but even then I doubt it can make up for it.

Build up his stamina I think it is the "Giant Sword" you are talking about, I found that my fighter did well with it, untill he got Excalibur wooHooo

I would build up your Ranger's stamina anyway. I noticed early in the game that after my Bard, my Ranger seemed to run out of gas pretty early in any fight.

By the time you get his stamina to a decent level you should be finding one of the Giant's Swords. And they're worth the effort.

Year giants Sword is really very nice but i have one question. Why do you all like Excalibur ?
I mean, I use lightsword, that is much better than Excalibur, i have Vi, a Lord and a fighter and excalbur in my inventary. No one uses it, cause:
- -5 initiave
- 2handed
- most important: only one strike per attack
a samurai with two good sword and a lord with bloodlust/diamond eyes is better than Excalibur
But it is nice to sell it..200.000 gold is important when you deal with Ferro cause PP doesnt work anymore

After I got the tripple shot crossbow my ranger usually faints after 4-5 rounds.
Very boring, so from now on all points into Vitality and Strength.

LOL! Luckily, I noticed it earlier on, when my Ranger got a double-shot crossbow in the Monastery, so I had a chance to build the poor guy up so that he didn't pass out after two rounds.
