Not that I know of... have you wandered around the.... explosive areas of the swamp near the danger sign?

heya!

take it from someone who's been thru the game 4 times, and partway with about 5 or 6 other teams...

Ole Dark and Grumpy shows up whenever he wants. ususally within an hour gametime when you hop into the swamps. but sometimes as much as a few days gametime!

and it seems that being near a "swamp gas" spot will encourage him to come around. but it should be one that's close to one of the paths that wind around the swamp area.

don't worry, he WILL turn up. i don't think there's ever been any reports of a complete no-show for him.

Two or three trips - which is all but one time into the swamps, I went at night and could see NOTHING (practically, considering it's dark & dismal in the daytime). I got away with cutting across between loops of the road, bypassing this or that batch of wasps or slimes, neither of which earn near enough experience for the trouble they involve (didn't know for weeks to use CTRL to target a bouncing something like the wasps).

But the last time, in the southern part, after changing my mind in regard to the temple in the SE wilderness, I was bumbling along and had no idea what was injuring most of the party here & there! One was even unconscious for a bit, I think. I didn't worry abouty it much. We're not talking about much of a hurt at all when it happened 2-3 times.

Shortly after hitting the last such spot, we ran into the DS for the first & only time. It was getting on toward daybreak about then. Is the swamo gas found in spots where the foliage is all dead & black or something?

Kiwi, himself.

I could be wrong, but I think you can just TAKE the Chaos Moliri; if you're strong enough to fight a small troop of Mook and don't mind losing your faction rating with them.

The swamp holes are a pain, so I always (or most always) trek through during daylight. The holes are easier to see. Also, you can see them as dark spots on the auto map.

I have always found the Savant near a hole, and he thoughtfully leaves the fake doodad right on top of it.

I've had best luck with the small crack and larger hole just a little SW of the bridge. Have to walk fairly close, but not on it.

Ome time, though, he showed up near a hole elsewhere - right in the middle of a fight with an emerald slime. I kid you not. We were rushing the slime to get into melee range....and suddenly, we whipped around (the game did that): there was the Savant. Weird! So he did his spiel, dropped the doodad, vanished, and the fight went on. And yeah, we'd been cutting around the edge of the hole when that happened.

You can meet him all over the swamp i think but the easy way is to meet him where the "danger Sign" with gas coming up from the earth, i meet him down right outside of Croc`s house one time to!

Hmm.. I seem to be in the minority here. Every single game, coming in from Trynton, I've simply followed the path - and he's appeared at pretty much the same spot every time (I've been through there 8 or 9 times). I guess I should count myself lucky.
