Okay, so I've run all over Marten's Bluff and even managed to get thru the 7-4-0 door but then the T'Rang all immediately turn hostile! I'm trying to get into Rapax Rift without killing off Vi but it's not working very well! So my question is, where is the transporter and what do I do with the wires (they are for the transporter right?) Spoilers welcome - thanks!

That transporter is in upper mine tunnels (or something like that). Unless you've gone through the mines and that crazy mine car ride, you won't be able to get to it. The trap door to Marten's bluff adjacent to the fort only opens from below. The transporter is only a few rooms from this trap door actually.

Hum, that's the way I did it : you release her, enter rapax rift, set a portal, get her back from Arnika. Once done, you can return to your portal at will. Just note that she'll complain a LOT and FREQUENTLY !.
Also, how on earth did you find out about this 7-4-0 numbers without having the t'rang being hostile ?. As far as I knew, the only place where the "7" (or was it the "0") info is, is on Z'Ant himself. More generally, these infos _are_ on t'rangs .. and I though you could only get them by looting the corpses . So, enlighten me there please !. Cya, Sylvain

Vi will do a lot more than complain. Any party NPC who is forced to enter an area they don't like will have severely reduced skills. It's just not worth it to take them along.
As for the T'Rang teleporter, if you have the teleport spell, I suggest setting it to that location. The T'Rangs have a more advanced model than the Umpani, and it has four locations stored in memory. This means you can effectively get four locations for the price of one, simply by setting your own teleport spell to the T'Rang teleportal chamber. |

quote: There are three ways to get to the transporter. Without getting too spoilerish, they are: 1) Via the trapdoor outside the fort. Trouble is you have to get down there and open the doors from the inside before you can access it this way. 2) Via the restricted area that you get to by wading in the gunk. You'll need to get rid of the guards somehow by drawing them off or killing them or getting them killed in combat. In the long run, this is the best way to do it though it takes some time to set up. But it does end up giving you the quickest access to the t-port from the rest of LMB. 3) By going up the stairs from LMB to UMB into the haunted area (if you haven't found any stairs in LMB then you'll need to go through the mine tunnels to get access to this area first) and then through a room with a very noticeable center pillar. Through the other exit of that room you'll eventually find another set of steps leading down. These take you to the corridor the t-port is located on and you would approach the restricted area from the back side. This is the safest way to access the t-port (until you set a portal there) but is also the longest because you have to walk so much as well as wait for two areas to load. The other end of this corridor leads to the trapdoor mentioned in 1 above. Once you see the t-port what you do with the wires will be obvious.

Small spoiler maybe?
' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' If I remember correctly the note with - - 0 was found on the T-Rang corpse in Upper Martens Bluff (the same place you get the T-Rang hand). But only vaguely from memory. I have the - - 0 note and havenæt killed any T-Rang, YET.

Fable, I found that Vi was still pretty devastating despite the reduced stats. In addition, keeping her with me allowed her to continue levelling alongside my party (so that everyone was roughly the same level at the end game).
Besides, she's handy for carrying stuff. Joshua |
