Was wandering around Mountain Wilderness last night, needed to speak to Bela anyway and buy some items from him (That great polearm he has, 2 cloaks of colors and an eagle bow). Afterwards I figured I'd go uncover the shroud of darkness on that map.
Now I've hear of Talking Heads before, but I ran into a group of Burning Heads last night. Definitly not my favorite monster to take on. 1st round - cast Soul Shield and Element Sheild. 2nd round - cast Eye for Eye on who I thought was gonna get bent over (usually my Ranger). 3rd round - heal my butt off (Heal All) as they cast Firestorm and some other high level area spells (and no, it did not effect them of course... eye for an eye kicked in as it should, but of course they are mostly immune or 100%+ to everything) Alchemist popped off an elemental to distract/go pound on it (niether happened). Did get a nice Ranger crit on one of em. 4th round - cast some more spells that did nothing to them, Samurai got a nice ranged crit this time and we tried to move closer to the last one. 5th round - the 2nd of two boil bloods (for 78 a shot) on my 100%+ resistant (with soul/elemental) Bard killed her. 6th round - the Elemental finally hit the last head and killed it. After battle I rez'd my Bard. Damn those were tough at level 15 (they were 19th level), but 3 people raised levels after the battle, so now they are 16 and I finally hit the white cross on my bard...she moved up 3 1/2 levels to 17 (actually got 15 in Bard, then switched her to Valk for 1 and 2 - 17 total) I do have a couple of questions for this map area: After looking under a certain cascade of water, I noticed there seems to be one more item, but it's further up the falls. How do you get there? After rescuing Anslem from the 6 rapax around him, is there anything you actually do with him? He said his peace, then just stood there. I was unsure of what to do with him next. PS - the scorchers are actually really easy with a freeze spell/insanity, but those damn heads are giving me a headache. He means portions of the map that have not yet been explored (appear to have black mist).

Dunno about the objects behind the waterfalls, but if you got a spell book, an enchanted Wakisashi, a wand and some cheap crap, I think you have it all.
As for the burning heads, you did well in casting element shield the first round, but you should have engaged them on melee the second round, they have low AC and HP. Third, really don't know what to Anselm. stupid Braffit, when I asked him about Anselm, he said he was worried about him. So I told him:"NO NEED TO WORRY I SAVED ANSELM", the idiot gave me the usual I-don't-give-a-sh*t-answer.

Vaprak, you are correct. I'm just uncovering the blackness (aka - shroud of darkness) that covers the map, as I have not explored it all yet, mostly just the southern half as I NEVER stick to premade roads.
Yes I know I should have engaged them up close quicker, but for some reason it turned to combat mode while the heads were about a 1/2 mile away. This game is funny that way... sometimes it won't switch to combat mode until a monster group is nearly on top of you, and other times it puts you in combat before you can barely see em. It would have taken 2 complete "run" rounds for me to get to them, so I decided to see if any spells would work on em. Also yes, I did get the Rapax BP, some lame rod of winter, a real nice staff/rod of doom, a spellbook of some kind, the enchanted wakazashi, and a potion I think under the waterfall. But even after gathering all the stuff...there is a white dot on my radar. When I look there is nothing on the ground which makes me think it's right above me, on the first of the 2 levels of waterfall as it cascades down... I'm just not sure how to get up there.
