Just finished up Arnika, got quests to go to Mnt Gigas, but Trynton seems near byu. Should I go to Trynton or to the Northern Wilderness area first? Any recommendations?

I went to Trynton but Mt. Gigas is much more appropriate for your level. I finished Trynton then wnet to Mt. Gigas and found it not as challenging. The great thing about this game however is how open it is.

Getting to trynton can be as much of a pain in the butt as getting to Arnika is. Trynton is where I found out (much to my dismay) that plants can swim! I was on the bridge just inside trynton, facing down about 18 crimson poppies and a couple of rank weeds. I fugured I'd just stay on the bridge and use it as a choke point. Then some of the poppies charged me, and to my surprise, the started falling in the river. I laughed, and continued fighting. Then, a couple rounds later, they started popping up behind me. They had scaled the bank and outflanked me! I won, but it surprised the heck out of me.

Let's see... I personally did Monestary, to Arnika (and came to find I missed quite a bit which my wife found playing on her PC, so I ended up going back a few times because I am a completionist, LOL), then to Tryton. From Tryton I went to the Swamp. Ran around and mapped the entire swamp (yeesh, it's big), then went to the um, gah - brain dying on me - where the T'Rang are. From there, went to the wilderness (the forst one, where Rex is, can't recall the name), then mountain wilderness... and I think that's where I am at now (at work currently, and do tech support for cable modems, so I have people screaming in my ear, shattering my concentration, and preventing me from thinking logically)! funny thing is, I went to Trynton after Arnika and damn if those leaf sprites aren't the toughest buggers early on in this game.
Mind you...I love battling hogars!! One of the cool monsters in the game i think! |

LOL! The Forest Sprites in that room taught me an important lesson (which is why I did the FAQ)...
Read the friggin' manaul. I was blasting the little buggers with spells left and right, and wondering why my party was being beaten to pieces. (I didn't know what Eye for An Eye was - thought it was for physical damage done to them reversed back at the attacker - not magic attacks reversed back at the caster)! LOL! What a mess. It took me about five deaths, before I realized my error.
