What ya'll think of my "would-be" character

I think this will be my party for Wiz 8 (Class only... race not yet decided)

Fighter |F|(Group leader) --> Mage --> Valkyrie

A female who specilize in arts of sword then later in her life decide to study magic rather than swords. Then discovered sercet of ability to cheat death so decide become Valkyrie

Rogue |M| --> Lord --> Ninja

A male who study in art of stealing and backstabbing. Then, decided to give up art of shadow and turn into Lord - Protector of Light. Later, he decide he want back into way of shadows and become Ninja.

Rogue |F| --> Bard --> Gadgeteer

A female who love to talk and sneaking around. And she discoved her love of music and decide turn into Bard. After she realize that bard is not life she want and she was fascintion with modern items and weapon so she decided to be called the proud and few Gadgeteer.

Ranger |M|

A male who grew up around wildnerness and study arts of nature and protector of Nature and vow that he will always be Ranger.

Priest |M| --> Bishop --> Monk

A male who grew up most of his life in Church, he is well versed in Magic of Divinity. Later in life, he realize he want to learn more of other spell realm, thus Bishop. Then he decide that magic is too much bruden to study and turn into Monk.

Alchemist |M| --> Psionic --> Samurai

A male who spend his life making potion, powder and bombs. He always thought that he will be Alchemist forever, but until he discoved he have some Telepath ability and decide to study this ability further. Later, he think his Telepath ability is cursed and decide turn into Samurai and study art of swords.

What ya'll think of this party? Note: This party will get every class Wiz 8 have offered. And I want to make every char have the reason why they decide to turn into new class. Hope this party will be sucess in Wiz 8. Also, I have to think of race for every class umm.. any suggestion? Maybe I will write some story with this party hehe I like to have fun with game and invent some of cool, funny story.

it's nice to see someone who likes to give a background to their chars. i do the same, but usually it's all in my head as i go.

i have a question tho, about your Fighter going to a Mage. i don't think they share the same stats, so i an wondering if it can be done?

check out Scronan's info on the basic stats for each type. you might want to double check now on the stat requirements, rather than be disappointed later. of course, i could be misunderstanding how the class changes work, but that wouldn't surprise me! LOL.

I wonder if Slip will be interested in hosting stories from Wizardry 8 like he did from Wizards and Warriors? If not, I may be persuaded to put up a "Wizardry 8 Story Archive" on my domain.

Class-switch dont work like wiz 7.. When you switch class.. you wont go back to level 1 and you wont reset the stats to class' requirement like in previous wizardry but you will keep old stats and continue increase stats and level up for example.. level 7 warrior then change class you will class change only when you level up so Level 7 warrior + Level 1 mage = Level 8.. however.. stats does matter but I will put points into stats that requirement to be mage before I switch to other class. So for that reason. I might pick Human since it have average stats points. Hope this clear up some. I will also import my party from wiz 7 hehe I wanna to have Vi in my party. But most likely I will start new party 1st then import my party from wiz 7 later.

okay. i guess the demo is misleading then?

from playing the demo i got the impression that, at each level up, a person could only change to a few other classes. and with the limit of 3 points max/per stat/per level-up, it would take 17 Levels to go from a start of "0" to "50" (which is a minimum for most classes).

case in point: the fighter, a lizardman, couldn't change classes to anything else at all, ever.

and the other classes were only given a few other classes to choose from.

but i rarely play humans, so my games tend to be restricted that way. and with this being my first exposure to wizardry, i guess i don't know the ins and outs.

either way, you should definitely write about your experiences. i know i like reading stories about games that i like.
