Help needed badly

I have been playing BG2 for about a year now and i still cant beat the 1st level. I need some help with battle strategies! Please help me out!

It would be better if you specify which battles you are having difficulties with as different battles requires different tactics.

what first level are you talking about?

You mean the 1st level of the dungeon you start in? What are you playing as? Id reccomend keeping your mage(s) out of the front lines and rest often.

The first level as in the big place you start the game in. The specific battle i find toughest is fighting the hordes of goblins in the hallways.

Um, it's pretty easy. Are you playing as a party or going solo? Try toning down the difficulty level to easy.

Hmm, the hardest part of those goblins is the archers. Make sure you get supplies from the room Imoen talks about. All you do is open the door closest to the exit, then take the items off the tables, equip your guys. Try to get minsc and Jaheria to join you, and make sure all them are equipped with appropriate items. Try manuevering and testing different spells to your liking and experiment. There is also a tutorial for newbies

Welcome to the board scott lucas,

If you're new to the game,it's best to rest a lot of times,so your hp can get full.Try experimenting,and take it slow.

Yeah, do the tutorial and make sure you get big, beefy armour from the table.
