i would say Cernd he really sucks..and for those taht don't liek valygar i don't quite understand youre point , he is one of the most awesome fighgters get him boots of speed and the super katana from the tempel districkt and he will be a fuckin super killer.

the worst npc's imo are anomen and Nalia. They are SO annoying. I can't stand them.

I honestly don't see what's so bad about Cernd. I know I'm probably gonna get whipped for this but I think Cernd is better than Jaheira, here are my reasons why : For a start Jaheira claims to be a fighter/druid yet in my game she couldn't hit ANYTHING, i mean what good is a fighter if she never kills anything?
OK in fairness to Jaheira she is a good druis but the downside is that she is a fighter/druid thus her spell levels go up slower. In my game by the end she was only at lvl. 6 spells, which meant i never got to see spells like creeping doom which I was so eagerly awaiting.I'm lucky because if it wasn't for Aerie I would've never seen any lvl.7 priest spells at all!

In my opinion if you want a druid take Cernd instead of Jaheira oh and for heaven's sake a druid is NOT meant to be at the the front involved in melee combat, keep your druids at the back where it's safe for them.

Why the big downer on Aerie - I've always found her to be my top spellcaster - she's not a fighter so the low HP don't matter.

I think all the NPCs are pretty good (though some are better than others) - Cernd has to be the worst (with one exception to his uselessness) by far (his story is naff and looks unfinished to boot, plus he's useless at just about everything)

IMO it's the NPC quests and storylines that make them worthwhile as they all have skills to fit into the right party.

I give up, i hat Jaheira........her whinging and constant stuck up cowness give me the arsehole! She cant hit squat without any strength enhancements and she takes like years to get the good spells.

Now Cernd, can be a fighter when you are starting and then near the end can stay at the back as a true druid mmmmmm Insect Swarm.

Not only that........Greater Werewolf.....he rocks!

You are mad the lot of you, now Jaheira and Haerdalis they stink (so do Jan and Mazzy by the way)

All of the NPCs can be very useful, if they are given the right equipment/weapons etc. That's why items such as Gauntlets of DEX, Gauntlets of Ogre Power, Girdles of xxx Giant STR etc are in the game!!

That said, I have absolutely no time for Nalia and Haer'Dalis. Nalia is a very weak thief, and an OK mage-Jan is a much better thief and both Edwin and Imoen are better mages. Haer'Dalis is a bad fighter AND a bad mage-why waste a party slot and all that XP on him? I'd rather have 5 chars than have him in my group!!
