I think that the Hatian (Bob doesn't sound heroic enough) can only nullify thought related powers, I mean he didnt do much to stop Petreli from flying off

Good point about Bob.

It would also explain why they used Eden to capture Sylar instead of letting the Haitian do it himself. If he can't stop telekinesis, he wouldn't be a match for Sylar by himself.

Though another possibility is that he wasn't using his blocking ability on Petrelli, and he flew out of range too fast to stop him.

Eden used her power on Sylar when Bob was nearby, so it doesn't seem like it's a blanket nullification field. For all we know, it might only block mind-reading, and not other powers.

Qutie possibly, he can block mind-related powers from a distance, and can either block other powers when up close and personal, or effect the mind in some extreme way, when up close.

Remember, though, he was instrumental in taking the nuclear man. He must have had some ability to block those powers or he and Claire's dad might have been flash fried.

If that's the politician, they meant for him to get away. They were just testing him. That's why Claire's dad had the smile on his face. Just my guess.
