Kids love them. Lots of cuddly characters.

Not just kids read his books. It's quite a hit among adults as well. People really like Rowans writing style.

I've never read Harry Potter. How would you describe Rowling's writing style? Why is Harry Potter seemingly more successful than Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms?

That's hard to describe. Her writing style is quite light. It's open to both adults and kids. Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms are pretty heavy material. You can't compare them to HP. There are no rules, and far less violence in Rowans books. They're pretty friendly. More of a fairy tale then fantasy in the style of DL or FR.

Rowan? I thought Mr Bean had nothing to do with this, Dreamer And I though the writer of the Potter novels was called Rowling

Anyway, I kinda like the books, although I thought the last book (the Order of the Phoenix) was a bit of a disappointment. Too long, too little happening, and a lot of capital letters which I rather hate.

I read the first 4 and they were really good at the time, the thing was I read them as soon as they came out, I come to read the new book and after 100 pages of links back to the old books (which by this time I had forgotten about) I gave up! I think there is too big a period in between times of release!

Well he knows how to use magic. I hate when people are comparing HP to LotR. Becuase LotR is absolute winner IMHO.
