Watching the movie again, I noted that there is exactly one sentinel for every person inhabiting Zion. This is perfect, if some sort of merging of the two species is going to take place.

Merovingian "lies" to his wife twice. First, he says he has to go to the bathroom simply to take a whiz. Later, when his wife confronts him about "the lipstick he is still wearing", he smugly wipes his face and says "There is no lipstick there". OK, the second one isn't an outright lie, but it is an obvious attempt at deception.

Another interesting point is the fight between Neo and Merovingians crew. When they open up with their machine guns - only to have Neo stop ALL the bullets - Merovingian seems mildly surprised ("It appears you do have some power"). Perhaps the previous incarnations of the One were not as powerful as Neo. In any case, I find it interesting that Merovingian could be surprised by Neo's power, since he seems very self-assured that this incarnation of the One will be no more successful than the previous ones.

Sadly, I probably won't see the Revolutions until sometime next week - perhaps even the week after. The lines at the cinema are simply too long. Even though the one I go to offers matinee' showings every day of the week (at 3 and 5), I found it almost impossible to get in at those times. So I will just have to wait till the crowds die down some.

It is obvious that there is something different about this Neo than the others- that being his love for Trinity. The architect tells him that he gets to some conclusion more quickly than his predecessors and the Merovingian is surprised by Neo's abilities, especially since he says "I have survived your predecessors and I will survive you too."
I think it goes back to Neo's 'joining' with Smith in Matrix. That was something that none of the other Neo's had ever done before. It changed both of them. The way that Smith can clone himself on a human being inside the Matrix and then 'possess' that person, or plant suggestions in them to carry out actions outside the Matrix- the guy who tries to knife Neo, but stops when that kid comes up behind him. And the other side is Neo's ability to sense (and maybe stop) the Sentinels- there is debate on whether he stopped them or not. Why wouldn't the architect lie? I think as a machine, he wouldn't be bothered with anything resembling morality, but the most pragmatic solution- the best for him and maybe the machines as a whole- would be his motivation and whatever he needed to do to accomplish that is what he would do. So either he lies when he says that if Neo chooses to go back into the Matrix- he says that Trinity is going to die and there is nothing Neo can do about it- so either he lies to get Neo to do something he wants him to do, or he underestimates Neo's abilities and/or his love for her- he doesn't know that Neo could actually bring her back to life.
Hmmm.... still thinking ... It did help to watch Reloaded a second time at least.

On Smith's ability to 'clone' himself... I think that's a natural progression of the Agents' ability to take over a human body and use it. Smith now has an independent existence from the System - as in, he now has a 'body' of his own - so rather than simply moving from one body to another, it looks like he can just adapt any body and turn into a copy of his. The fact that he's now outside the System also explains why he's now able to do this to other 'outsiders' - e.g. Bane, Morpheus. Smith's takeover of Bane looks like it's similar to what the Agents tried to do to Morpheus in the first film - hack into his brain, change his alpha-wave patterns. Of course, not being connected to the system, Smith is no longer able to move through the Matrix from body to body like Agents do - and so any body he takes over he has to physically interact with. Also, he can no longer 'tune in' to the Matrix and see what other people see, but he does mention some 'connection' with Neo ever since thee pair of them 'merged'... perhaps that explains how easily he is able to find Neo.

It should be noted that Bane's operator must have been asleep, or something, when Bane was 'Smithed'.

The Architect's 'lie' is not a lie - he is somewhat annoyed at the fact that Neo stubbornly refuses to do what the Architect wants him to do (re-enter the Source, re-found Zion). I think his point that Trinity will die regardless is an attempt to appeal to Neo's common sense - it doesn't matter if she survives against the Agents, or survives the fall, or whatever. The Machines will destroy Zion and hunt down every human being, including her, regardless; so (the Architect tries to say) Neo is better off complying and allowing the human race and the Matrix to survive than refusing to co-operate and live in desperate hope.

Or perhaps Trinity be the most important... after all, the One only bows down to one person...

another thing is that in the end of Reloaded, on how Neo survived the live attacks of the machines... he was able to stop it and they were OUT of the Matrix... that's another thing of interest in my opinion...

That was Niobe's ship saving them with an EMP I do believe. But, I too had to be corrected on it.
