I thought it was fantastic. I was impressed on how close they stuck to the comic. I figure since Stan Lee and Steve Ditko were involved, they made it stick to the story as much as possible. I will not go into detail. I do not want to give anything away. I think that any Spidey collector/fan should see it, no doubt. Stan Lee makes an appearance in the film. He is a little hard to spot. See if you can find him!

Let me know what you think of the film. I have been collecting comics for many years now. I would say that 70% of my collection is Spidey. I have over 2,000 comics in all. I am very interested in what other collectors/fans think of the film

I never collected much Spiderman back in my collecting days, but followed his development. Once Venom and Carnage came along they absolutely ruined the character, I thought.

Any predictions about the next character they convert into a movie? They did Captain America (el floppo) and the Fantastic Four (did they ever even release it?) so I have two guesses: 1) the Hulk or 2)Iron Man.

I heard just the other day that Marvel had a Hulk movie in the works. I hope they can pull it off. The problem with the movies in the past is that they tried to pull it off as real life too much. Comics are fantasy, so make the film that way! Spider-Man was done right, along with X-Men. Both quality movies that captured the comic book feel, if that makes any sense. Iron Man would be so awesome to see a movie made for. I think that current special effects could make that movie fantastic (crosses fingers) I would still like to see an Avengers movie with Cap, Thor, Iron Man, etc. I think that would be fun with a superstar cast

I also heard that Sandra Bullock (sp?) is going to play Wonder Woman in a movie. I will have to see how that will turn out. Sounds like a stretch for her.

It figures the Hulk would be next. Against whom should he be placed? The Leader?

Avengers would be good, if done similarly to X-Men, even though the Avengers always got better press coverage.

*ponder* Sandra Bullock could pull off Wonder Woman, no problem. Off the top of my head, I can't think of another actress who could.

Good question. He has had so many tough enemies in his comics. I think your suggestion could be done correctly. I am looking forward to hearing more about the movie to see which direction they take.

Can you believe that The Incredible Hulk is being directed by Ang Lee (the director of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon). Also the Hulk is being played by Eric Bana (ex-Australian comedian and the actor that played Chopper. He was also in Black Hawk Down).

The trailer I saw when I saw the Spiderman movie last night didn't tell us very much about the Hulk film...just something about him being a tortured soul who both despised and enjoyed his transformations...and then he transformed into the Hulk and we saw the whole side of the house he was in bulge out. Weird.

I liked the film. I don't usually like the superhero comic book type movies like this, but the story and special effects were top notch (plus Kirsten Dunst is a TOTAL babe).

I thought it was okay (not top notch but okay). To me it sorta dragged in some spots. I think if they would have matched him up with one of his more colorful foes it would have been a better story. I did like the X-men movie a little better.

I also saw that trailer for the hulk and I think it could be cool. Though like someone said, he fought some heavy hitters so it will be neat to see who they pair him up with (I pray its not the Hulk vs. the US military...yawn).

I'd like to see Daredevil or some other less powerful character in action on the silver screen though my fav character has to THOR!

Just my 2.

I hear ya!! She was totally hot in the rainy alley scene All in all, I think she played a pretty good MJ. She did not seem to play that character as feisty as MJ is in the comics, but that is just nitpicking.

I missed the Hulk trailer! I will have to try and find that on the web. I do not want to see the Hulk against the military either That would be a steaming pile of monkey crap. I can imagine it now...**shudders**

Who could have been more colorful than the Green Goblin? Good characterization on him, too--split personality, despite being an awful affliction in real life, makes for sympathetic yet evil villains.
Strangely enough, this didn't have the feel of a typical Sam Raimi film, if you discount the more tortured Peter Parker who must walk away from those he loves (go see Darkman again for more of this).

re: Mary Jane Watson. The MJ from the comics did not have an abusive family life. This was simply character-tweaking for the movie version.

re: the Hulk. I almost laughed out loud when I saw the trailer, because, as you can read above, I suspected that he would be the next character to make the leap to the wide screen. Thunderbolt Ross aside, most likely he'll have to go up against the Leader or the Abomination.
