I went to see The Mummy with the rest of the clan thinking: "It's going to be Pants. It's a good thing I'm not paying for this.". Well, I was completely wrong, it was great! I loved this film. But unlike the other people, I thought The Mummy Returns was nowhere near as good. My biggest problem was that the Scorpian King part seem to be just tacked on. There was not enough history behind the character to make you suspend your disbelief.

I thought the special effects of The Mummy were great, and Rachel Weiss was such a joy to watch. But not being particularly good at stomaching horror movies... I gave the sequel a miss

I thought they were both watchable and a good laugh, but neither were exactly Oscar winning material. Even the special effects were badly done in places. By the end of the film I thought they had just gone a bit too overboard with the tacky computer animations. It seemed more like a low budget playstation game in places, especially all the shots on that daft balloon thing.

But overall quite enjoyable and very watchable, if only once and not more often.
