has anyone read the book its written by Terry Goodkind and in my opinion one of the best fantasy novels ever. I have the fifth book of the series it was given as a present but havent read it yet because im waiting to read the others.

Has anyone read the series and is it worth to buy the whole series??

I have read the entire series. Definitely start at the beginning. It will not make as much sense if you don't. The fourth book gets a bit slow, but is still well worth the read. Goodkind weaves a wonderful web of fantasy!

Also - have you yet read Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time Series or David Eddings' books? If not, read Goodkind and then go for these series! They are GREAT!

Once I've finished Pratchett's Thief of Time, that's the book I'll read first. The people that I know have read it completely share your opinion. According to them, the entire series is worth buying

Once again, I will echo what Dragonmage said. The first Terry Goodkind book was the best IMHO. Without it, the others make very little sense. It helps to expunge the ideas you had from the Wheel of Time books before reading it though. There is no Rand in there.

David Eddings did an excellent job too with creating memorable characters. Sparhawk was my favorite.

OH! Sparhawk! I just fell in LOVE with him! I had never heard of Eddings until my father brought home for me The Sapphire Rose. I had to save all my allowance for months to buy all the other books. I went ahead and read all of that series (the Elenium), then went out and started at the beginning with the Belgariad and Mallorean, then waited anxiously as the Tamuli presented itself! (Can you tell I get excited about these books???)

But, I digress...back to Wizard's First Rule, et al.

I haven't read this one, but I will. Didn't he write 'Legends' as well?

I started reading Goodkind's series while waiting for Jordan. It's hard not to compare the two but they are different. I prefer Jordan's world a little better, but the Goodkind series is well worth the time. To me, they get better as the story progresses.

I've read them all so far, and am anxiously awaiting the next.

Just my 2.
