What do you think? I think that the Realms is one of the most amazing fantasy worlds ever conceived (it's the ONLY thing that Ed Greenwood has done that I like) but I have a soft spot for Krynn, it was the first fantasy world I really got into and Weis and Hickman have a way of writing about AD&D which IMHO is still unparalleled in terms of scope.

Curious as to what others think.

I love the Forgotten Realms series. Just finished Icewind Dale Trilogy. What an excellent book.

that is a particullary hard choice. I started out with krynn but faerun seems to span a larger area and variety of novels. But saying that, I have read practically every Dragonlance novel out and have only read mostly just salvatores books and a few others in the forgotten realms side of things.

I have never read Dragon Lance, but I love FR... but The Dark Sun is another fave. I played it a lot on paper few years ago, it was great, would be great if they made a Infinty game about it.

I would have to agree with you Memnoch, Dragonlance is good, but that mostly due to the colorfull characters and thoose are in the Faerun too, so well.. Sorry Dragonlance.

I find the dragons of autumn and thoose book to be great, one of the first thing i read from the Dungeons and Dragons world ever, and the Brothers majorie was also good. Though when I read Magicians apprentice I thought that was more "true" to a DoD world than Dragonlance and than I stumbled upon Drizzt in Baldurs Gate and then i found some books of Salvatore. Well I do really like Faerun.

Dragonlance is best with Forgotten Realms a second best. Both are far and away better than any of the other worlds.

This is a hard question. I like both alot, but for varying stories Forgotten Realms is probably better due to the larger world. I liked most of the stories from both and argh, I can't decide. This is like saying "Who's more surly, Bruenor or Flint?" There just isn't an answer!

<sigh> Let's put it this way. If BioWare had made a Dragonlance computer game, my favourite would be Dragonlance. But, well, they didn't.
