As the title suggests... however, I want to play it with Tutu..., now, the only real thing I'm concerned about is, well, are there any NPC interactions mods out there for BG1? I seem to recall it being well - a lot less banter went on. I want it baaaack. (so to speak). So, before I get the disks out and start installing *both* BG1, 2 and dling various mods, does such a banter/interaction BG1 mod exist, or am I wasting my time?

Oh, and in theory, since BG1 is using the BG2 engine with BGTutu, shouldn't various BG2 mods work? Like that subrace mod that's out there?

Just a few queries to waste your time

Thanks in advance,
CD.

Actually, don't mind me. I've discovered a mod after some searching. Although, I'll likely have a few questions... like, does Shadow Keeper work with Tutu?

OMFG. I am going to destroy this crapile I call a computer. Tutu is installed, but none of the effing other fixpatches, tweaks or god only knows what else will install. It says there's an "error" but it won't say what, even though its in the right goddamn folder. My BG1 *english* *shop* bought copy won't work either, saying that it's a US/Canadian version and will only work there. I have no idea what the *hell* is wrong with this damn thing, but its driving me insane.

Great, just friggin' great. Now I can't even RUN BG2. I re-installed tutu, and now, when I run BG2 - it says "An assertion failed in Chitin.cpp at line number 1628
Programmer says: Error initializing key table, bad key file".
...
Goddamn this wretched game.

Getting tutu to work can be a bit trying. Make sure you do a COMPLETE install of BG1, or it won't work. If you have the 3 disk version of BG1(Oringinal Saga), the only way to do a complete install is to select the "custom" install option, then manually select everything on the disks. Even if you have good installs of the basic games, I found that TuTu is very 'bitchy' about multiple mods installing correctly. Does the game run at all?

I did a full install, did everything TuTu specified... it still hates me. I've no idea why. I could try re-installing it, but I spent a long time just installing the damn thing to start with.

And no, it won't run at all. I have BG Tales of the Sword Coast - although, this is a three disk set. It doesn't seem to matter *what* I do, it still seems to be being "bitchy" as you put it. Honestly, I don't know what I've done wrong.

The other thing I noticed was, it won't let me run TuTu to even install unless I start changing folder names. The default for BG1 is pathway is: "C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate"
...
So, it should look like this:

~source~ [ ~C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate\~ ]
~source.variant~ [ ~BG1~ ]

~target~ [ ~C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA~ ]
~target.variant~ [ ~BGII - SoA~ ]

Right?

Because if not, it would explain a hell of a lot. It's bugging the hell out of me as well, so any help would be appriecated vastly.

Don't know what to suggest. The syntax looks correct. I would do a complete reinstall,, I mean completly uninstall, reboot, reinstall both games. Make 'triple' sure the syntax is correct, and try to get BG1 running in TuTu BEFORE adding any mods. Once you can get to the BG1 prologue(CandleKeep),,, THEN go back and start adding mods. And if you have the same experience I did, half the time you'll have to reload WeiDu mods, cause it 'bitches' about the install.
Once you get it working, I recommend the "Indira" NPC mod. Valley Girl goes adventuring..and killer 'camp' voice acting!

*nods* I may end up doing that then - I already dled the Indira mod, btw, as well as a few others. I'm disappointed that it isn't working properly. *sigh*. Ok, I'll do a reinstall and get back to you lot. Cheers again.

What are the error messages you are getting? Providing the pathways you entered are correct (case-sensitive) and you have full installs with patches of BG1 and BG2 then the Tutu converter should run fine.

Also, mods will work fine with Tutu as they do with normal BG2, provided you read the ReadMes and make sure you follow the instructions. Most bugs are results of people not reading the ReadMe and installing something incorrectly.
