Solo sorcerer

I never played a sorcerer on NWN before…I decided I would play that class since I was getting bored playing the same class every time. Is it even possible to play a solo sorcerer through the whole game without a henchman? With the low HP and AC…I will only be using a familiar. Anyone wanna give some tips on this class? What spells should I know?
Any help will be appreciated.

BTW, please can people answer my last two question on the EDIT:more….question topic?

im just curious though.. will your familiar be at least helpful at epic levels? just curious..

because of the 3 level boost at the beginning it is possible. Choose your spells VERY carefully AND get the pixe familiar (the only one capable of opening locks).

I echo what Scott said. Get the pixie. Also pick summoning spells... Remember that you can unlearn them... and don't miss Stoneskin, Greater Stoneskin, and Premonition.

Do not choose pixie. Choose some fire breathing flying creature. blast the chests and the doors!!

mmm, breath weapon is limited to use per day. (i.e. VERY limited)

additionally the pixie also disables traps. (and isn't bad as a support attacker - particularly because it attacks with a +1 weapon.

And it's a rogue, so it gets sneak attacks, yes? (It should, but I honestly can't remember right now) More often than not it'll attack what you're fighting, so it's distracted and it gets its hits right through.

For a Sorcerer w/out a meatshield hench you should summon one and your opponent will essentially disregard the pixie (most of the time). It often depends on who attacks first - the pixie or the summon. (if the pixie attacks first then the opponent will have a greater probability of killing it first.) Strangely, I don't remember if it sneak attacks or not.

Hmmm...It seems that a solo sorcerer would be hard...I was hoping to use the hell hound for a familiar. Might as well try the pixie, though the fairy like sound that it makes does get annoying.

I got another question, I have SoU installed and maybe planning to buy HotU. What kind of stats sould I have since I'm going to play a elven sorcerer?

Charisma and Dexterity should be of foremost concern, followed by Constitution. Maybe an Intelligence of at least twelve, and no other stats below 10.
Charisma should be at least 14 when you begin, maybe 15. If you're an elf, give yourself 16 Dexterity. Then give yourself anywhere from 12 to 14 Constitution.
