Hello, i have recently got BG1, and started a thief. (I have been playiong bg2 for quite the time.) And now i have cometh to the city of baldurs gate. And the first thing i think, Holy shit, there are so many districts, and all of them are covered in fog of war! And there are so many quests, wich tells me to go to places that i cant find ANYWHERE. So i would be DELIGHTED if someone could give me a map of the disricts in Baldurs gate.

Look up mike's rpg center, somewhere on the net, and it gives a good map.

wouldnt it just be easier to explore them all yourself, that way you could see them. But if you want a map then find a walkthrough, they will have plenty of them, but since its your first time through I would advise against using anything to spoil your game, try just looking around!

BG City doesn't have named "districts" like the major city in BG2 does, just the 9 map areas that they had to divide the city into. A nice overhead view of the entire city can be found here, just right-click on the background and say "Save Background As." Of course, there are no labels or anything on the buildings, so you can either wait from somebody nice to link you to a site that has the same image with the names written in, or take note of the fact that most retail copies of the game include a handsome map of the city, drawn by Volothamp Geddarm. (Note: Volothamp's version of the map contains an error, as the Blade and Stars Inn is in the wrong place. It is said this was done intentionally, as a way to get back at the Inn for their percieved poor service.)

[ADD:] Oh yeah, the best way to keep track of the dozens of quests that come flying at you in BG City is to be aware that each of them is noted down in your Journal. USE IT! You'll quickly go insane if you don't. Also (it's very easy to miss this), each Chapter of the game has its own page in your Journal, and you can fip back & forth between them by clicking on the little arrowheads. [/ADD]

It's not too much of a spoiler. The game should have come with a map of the city of BG. At least mine did. It has a bunch of streets labeled, a bunch of buildings labeled, etc.

Besides that, wouldn't it be normal to be able to buy a MAP in some store? That justifies finding a map with all kinds of labels. Heck you could even ask directions, which ALSO justifies labels on a map.

just getting from one place to another can me a bit of a pain as well - where you end up in a sector depends on where you left from sometimes and some map areas are split by walls - can be confusing

of course as a thief you should try going everywhere . . . .

Yeah, well i think that they should have made it like when you first come to beregrost, and a guy approaches you and you can ask him where the inn, weapon store, luxurus inn etc etc, is.

Well but that would be very unrealistic...
I suppose every city has has a "welcoming committee" whose sole job is to wait at the city gates in search for newly arrived adventurers??
