{SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!}
do NOT read if you have not finished chap. 2!!!! | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | V When fighting the Spirit of the wood in the Neverwinter woods, I was down to my last harming spell (I am a cleric). I cast Negative Energy Ray on the stag, and it healed him! Getting an idea, I cast my most powerful healing spell on it and killed it. Why is the spirit of the wood an undead creature?

But undead creatures are evil. The spirit of the wood is good. It doesn't even look like a spirit at all! Just a shiny deer.........

Well, you DID read and listen to the locals, didn't you? The Spirit Realm is an area, which is between the "land" of living and dead. You even had to stab yourself to get into the spirit's world. So it's perfectly clear why it was considered as an "undead"
However, not all "undead" are evil. The word "undead" is used to describe evil ones, but the "undead" as such is actually a state, not a type or alignment. There are "evil" and there are "good" spirits, and this one was the last one.

Not to mention the Elven Liches, Baelnorn (spelling?)
I hadn't thought of that angle. Healing undead to kill them. Good thinking. I have used it in PnP games but, just never thought of it for NWN's. I didn't think that the designers would be that faithful to the rules. |

Spoiler
\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ Go back to a saved game and use the Spirit Antidote on the deer. It will then show you everything that happened to it, and even give you an item, then put you back into the real world. Then go back to the druid circle and talk to the Head guy there. He'll give you a cloak. |

you have to remember, that depending on what race, class, alignment you are, decides the rewards you get. And the choices you've made previously in the game.
