He's bad enough already with his arrows of detonation, and even with an AC of -11, he damn near hit me every single time.
BTW, maybe Sarevok could be given a ranged weapon as well? It would make him more potent, plus he's proficient for crossbows, so he should be armed with a crossbow as well.
so, you fight all four of them straight up at the same time (not divide and conquer) with a solo BALDUR'S GATE character ( = with exp cap of 89000)?

However, I started the game with a new character instead of importing different characters that I have, so I only went past the regular cap by 1 or 2 levels. I was at level 9, and yes/no to taking them on at teh same time. I ran in, killed Semaj, ran out, had Sarevok, Angelo, and Tazok following me. Ran in, killed Tazok, and then used regular fighting tactics to take out Angelo and Sarevok. Give it a shot sometime, it's pretty fun.

well, that's the good old divide and conquer tactic (+ hit and run). My point in my first post in this thread was that in a tougher version of the fight, superior AI will have them all charge in at once and will follow you anywhere together = because they want you dead. you run out, they will run after you together. That'll be fun:p

Arrows of detonation hit automatically. He never actually makes any to hit rolls.

As for Sarevok wielding a crossbow, I doubt his avatar supports it. Secondly, I have always always seen him as the badass sword-carrying fighter.

By the way, I know that I have beat them all at once with a maxed out TotSC party. It was difficult but not impossible. Yes, I did use summoned monsters but I do think of them as being cheesy. He plows through them in no time and he can be quite hard to hit.

I certainly think (or know) that it's not a mission possible to beat all four of them at once, but some gamers (like me ) have not done that successfully yet (and I know for sure there are quite a few people like Jerr Conner who consider the original battle is already hard enough). It's not to say that your idea isn't good' this mod of yours seems to be very intriguing for seasoned gamers; the thougher final battle is especially for challenge-seeking (=capable) gamers (sorta like those who love the SoA Tactics challenge).

Do not expect fights like those in Tactics. The enemies do not have advantages that the party does not and bosses do not have all sorts of immunities just because they are bosses. The increased difficulty will lie in a greater useage of the items they possess. (And I will give them new ones since potions and such were nothing but loot for the party previously).
Are you sure? Because after awhile, I watched arrows miss me. He must have switched arrows (I didn't loot his arrows to find out which kind he had left), but IIRC, he missed a few and then started hitting me again and loosing fireballs still, which is the effect of the arrows of detonation

Yes. Looking at his creature file, I can see he has four arrows of detonation, four arrows of dispelling, 20 arrows of biting and 20 arrows of ice. So, he runs out of those rather quickly.

-Echon [/QB]
4 arrows of detonation? That's not possible. I had double digit fireballs explode on him, there was way more than 4. He shot 4 at me within the first 2 or 3 rounds alone
