Hello All,
I have a Sorcerer, just acquired the identify spell...it don't work. I have it setup in one of the "F" slots...click on it then the item...no go. What am I doing wrong? Is there someone in the town I can see to have this item identified? Thanks for the replys in advance

Any shop can identify items for you - costs 100. As for your spell, I've never tried identifying using a spell but I'm thinking maybe you should just click on the item (examine), then bottom left of the item box there might be an option to identify, which would use your spell? Try that anyway, that's how you identify items in a shop

It can be a little difficult to use your identify spell. What you do is click identify and then on yourself if it doesn't auto cast on yourself (sorry, don't remember this right now) and then you open your inventory pack and then click on examine item on the item you want to have identified. Identify will not work on all items, but it works on most of them. There is a time limit. When you cast it, an icon will appear up at the top to let you know that it is in use. I don't think you can identify in combat, so you have to make sure nothing is going on. Otherwise, ANY store can identify for you. All you do is examine item, while shopping, and an identify option is at the bottom. Click on it and minus 100 gp later, you will have the item identified. You can use a potion of lore the same way. Click on potion of lore and identify spell should be available (not sure if this is standard or not, but I found a potion of lore that was like this so am basing from that.)

also check the inventory of the merchants - already in chp. 1 you can buy at least two rings of insight (+5 lore pr ring). That will take care of your identifying needs from quite a while.

I've found several Potions of Lore spread all around the game. I always use these.

After using a potion of Lore or casting Identify, pause the game. You can now identify all the items you want.
