I do not have a sufficient vid card either, the game should run fine on a GForce 2 with 64mb. I am planning to get the same one. The only issue I am worried about it the compatability with the G Force 2 and the motherboard, AGP port etc.

I've got a gforce 2 ultra and it runs fine. You shouldn't have any problems, I have all the visual settings maxed as well, and it runs smoothly, the only thing i can't enable is shiny water. Oh well.

YES!!! YES!!! YES!!!

Thanks for Answering the Geforce2 concerns!!!!

I really need this game!! I'm gonna stretch my GPU to the max!!

But is buying this game at $399 Trinidadian dollars worth it if our internet connections are limited to 48.8 Kbps?

I had the vid problem becasue of havign a voodoo card. Since I am getting a new pc next month i just went and bought a GForce2 MX400 card that was on sale. I have the graphics turned up to the 'best" setting (you have setting from fast to best to choose from) and the game runs nice and smooth.

However if either your processor or motherboard is not too good, then you may not be able to run it on the top settings, even with a GForce2.

Just so everyone knows.. the MX and other GF2 cards are not the same. The MX has half the memory bandwidth of a GTS or Ultra. You can crank the card up to about 1024x768x32b, but after that, the performance degrades horribly. The good thing is, the card is cheap - however, if you are going to spend $60 on a GF2MX, consider the GF4MX. They still are no where near a full GF4, but you'll get low-end GF3 performance out of one, for about $20 more. The good thing is, you can find it in a PCI version (not sure about the GF4MX though, I bought a GF2MX PCI for a crappy old corporate box just recently).

A decent system to run one on is right around a 1GHz machine, and have some decent ram (like 256, especially if you're running XP).

The card won't revolutionize your experience, but it should be adequate.

It does run well enough though.. especially on a GF4 ti4600

Seriously though, the MX does a decent job. Runs better than Dungeon Siege and most certainly Morrowind.

The gforce3 64mb ti200 can be purchased for only $90 american on www.pricewatch.com

That's what I bought for this game and it works quite well.

I would consider the Geo4 Ti 4200 64 MB version. It's the budget Geo4 card that's out and you can buy it for $150 bucks from alot of vendors on pricewatch.com. I bought the Gainward card with no frills, replaced my TNT2 and doubled my 3D Madonion benchmark. With a 900 Mhz Atlon I can crank up nearly all the details options at 1280 x 960 resolution without a hiccup. It's a bit more than the bargain bin Geo2 cards, but I figure it'll save money in the long run by putting off the inevitable upgrade for an extra year.
