I am curious... Is there anyway to get out of a self kill? I seem to be the only one who can kill me, and it scares me that I am so good at it. Such as getting stuck underneath the windmill crank and helplassly watching each party member dying, one by one. Granted, some are dumb mistakes or ignorance, such as blowing myself up by being too close to a spell going off(forgetting that it was armed in the first place!). Also, even though I read the tip on ladders, I am still having trouble climbing down them. As of now, I just run and jump, but I am sure that will get the best of me soon. Thanx

There's only one way to do it: be carefull.

Sorry, to sound abnoxious, but that's the way it is. Know the blast range of your spells, learn how to climbdown ladders and stay away from moving pieces.

BTW: the best way to go down ladders is to jump!

Good luck.

The most important move to learn is the backstep... backing up from things that would beat you into submission. I've worked on it a lot, let me tell you.

As for going down ladders, it's covered (I believe) in the Best Tips thread. You're not the first person to go "step... step... step... splat!" by far.

The easiest way I've found is to look up at the ceiling and then back my way onto the ladder. That generally works for me. As I've advanced, though, I've moved to a different approach: GERONIMO!!!!!!

For those unfamiliar, that means jumping and screaming at the top of your lungs, in anticipation of hitting the ground hard.

In most cases, I only take a point or two of damage, which heals up again quickly enough (at least in later stages).
