I guess he's just programmed to die. It wouldn't go well for the plot if Gorion accidentally killed the armoured figure.

That would be quite a sight...especially the movies ("With the death of Gorion, you yadda yadda"), and the last battle

OK, in my new game, this is what I saw happen with Gorion and the A.F:
Gorion casts a bunch of spells, and twice he got hit for 21 damage. After he hit the A.F for 98 damage (it was somewhere between 93 and 98, I think 98), e moved up to him and starts fighting him, where he suddenly just falls down and dies. I remember seeing Melf's Acid Arrows cast at least twice, but I don't remember if Gorion used it, or if it was used on him. If it was used on him, then the poison (well, acid damage) is most definately there.

Question Mark

Gorion's death also brings up another ridiculous lack of intelligence common to RPG worlds: characters who have to die for plot reasons will never, ever be resurrected, despite the fact that powerful high-level priests or scrolls/items that raise the dead are available.

I've beaten that game but it kept freezing till the point it was unplayble. Never got to see the ending.

It was probably because he ran out of flashy spells to use and, seeing as his end was inevitable (come on, mage with dagger versus big armoured guy with sword...) he just died so we didn't have to sit through him trying to stab the AF to death...

Could this be because he is an unkillable character in Candlekeep? That there would be no other way for him to die unless it was in the programming?

I don't know. I should probably quit rambling as well...

Cheers,

Moiraine Sedai

Pyrenk did u say one of your fighters survived gorions first attack when u attack him in candle keep? I have tried for ages to kill gorion and have always died on first spell (once i did over 200 damage first though!)

Gorion is timed to die against the armoured guy for the cliche reason, I did noticed that some of the cliches in the first reference do ring true with BG and BG2 (and were proven false by it as well).

I imported my character in to a mulitiplayer game so my party was pretty powerful I put my main character in a building with the rest of the pary except 1 character and I got he/she (cant remember twas years ago) to attack Gorian who cast magic and guess what? it went straight through all the buildings to find me in the inn and i died instantly. Now my character had just killed Servok and Gorian just killed me yet cant kill Servok.
