I have completed BG ang gave my character all cool stuff to take to BG 2 but gues what u dont get it, GRRR am soo mad, Took me lot of hard work to get them then they are simply gone ( u will understand when u play )

How ever there is a bug which will allow u to get all ur items from ur exported character but i dont know if i should do it as some people say its cheating. What would u do? start off with nothing, Or start off with ur cool gear from BG 1

Within 10 minutes of escaping that dungeon, a knowledgeable player playing solo can equip a character well enough that you really wont miss any of your BG1 gear.

Even a newbie with a party will pick up +1 and +2 equipment almost straight away, and the really good stuff isnt that hard to find.

Cheating... yes, I think it is. Those items that you are allowed to carry over you do indeed get to keep, and the rest is meant to be lost. However, keeping your equipment (and only that which your main character carries) would only give you a relatively small advantage after the first dungeon, even if it makes the dungeon fight itself a whole lot easier.
What was a cool greatsword +2 in BG is only a meager weapon after the initial encounters in BG2 (unfortunately, I should say).

Whether to keep the gear or not is entirely up to you. I'd say 'yes, it's cheating' but also 'hey, who cares'. If you feel comfortable with it, you should just keep your items. I doubt many people will think less of you if you chose to do so.

I'm of the view that very small items should be allowed to be "smuggled" into BG2. Technically, you're not supposed to be able to carry anything over, since all of your equipment was taken from you--but you'll soon run into a fellow who went through the same ordeal that you did, and managed to keep his most treasured possession undetected. I figure that if he did it, so can you: At the VERY beginning of the game (and boy do I mean the very beginning), just press Pause. Go to your Inventory screen, and if you hit Pause quickly enough, all your gear is still there. Select ONE item that you want to keep, and that item must be no larger than, say, an Amulet, or a Wand, or a spell scroll.

Maybe fair if you could find a few of the BG1 items.
