In the General Discussions Forum, there is a thread started by Fljotsdale, a 64 year old CRPG fan who wants to know how many women play computer games.

Let's all stand and be counted!

I *just* posted a reply to that thread over on the general discussions board, so I'll just copy and paste my post here....

I'm a 24-year-old woman who plays Wizards & Warriors. I used to play some of the old Wizardry games. Before that, I played games on the incredibly old Intelevision. (Did any of you ever have one of those?)
I have degrees in philosophy and religion and am currently working in a customs brokerage firm. Playing these games gives me a way to take out some of my frustrations!
By the way...do any of you ever meet guys who are just taken aback by the fact that you are a female gamer? I have several male friends that just think I'm the coolest because I play Magic the Gathering, play rpg's (pen and paper as well as on the computer), and love sci-fi/fantasy books and movies.

I'm not telling you how old I am, but my first computer fantasy game was on a TI (Texas Instruments)computer, long extinct, and was called Tunnels of Doom.
I'm also female!

My first game was the original Zork (when it was called Dungeon)... played on a Silent 700 off a DEC mainframe. I've been completely hooked ever since! But I'm not tellin' my age either... LOL... Yes, I am female too!

I'll drink to that! Mammawlin 52 years old - very female. The guys who think I am cool are my four sons who I can get out of tough spots in Duke Nukem!
