Jade Thieves

Was it ok of me to kill the thieves? Or do I need them for something later on?

Talk to their leader, Gorthius, who tells you that he is the leader of a band of thieves called the circle.Why then is he surrounded by Jade thieves, because they're assassins posing as his men so that they can get him.If you leave them you will hear fighting (complete with a text hint) and if you run back fast enough you even get to see them shooting him in the back(this takes some practice).Gorthius however should have asked you to take H'thark's Lockpicks to him in the Temple of the Snake.(Talk to him until he tells you).Returning H'thark's lockpicks to him will cause him to tell you how to complete the Serpent Temple quests.
