Great, Dundee!
BG2 is better in every way. But the prequel is still worth playing, it is legendary.
BTW, those traps are mostly unremovable. And they are rearmed every time they are sprung.

I found that only the ones in the central symbol couldn't be disarmed, and the ones near the altar only cast Web. Or maybe that was the ToSC-added difficulty that whenever party member comes within the sight range of one of the bad guys, Web and Stinking Cloud are automatically cast at that party member. Yeah. Like Tazok knows Wizard spells.

Just a couple of observations before this thread dissapears:

I always play with the difficulty turned up one notch otherwise it's too easy - suggest you should do the same.

I've always wanted to go one-on-one with Sarevok but never had a powerful character and I also wanted to do it without any summoning. I have just finished the game with my non-fighting Bard, so I figured it would be good role-playing to stand in the middle of the room playing Bard-song while the battle raged. Sure enough the big guy took the bait and came forward to destroy her, but she was up to the task. No potions or wands, just 3 scrolls of Mirror Image and 5 small guys with ranged weapons, was all it took.

I noticed that each ending is different - BG1, TOTSC & DSOTSC each adds a bit more complexity. I find that TOTSC is probably the harder, though on one run through DSOTSC I noticed (just before I died) that Semaj was casting all manner of Contingency stuff and also Tensar's Transformation. Sarevok never seems to change much, he's always a dumb S.O.B.( or should that be S.O.G)
