I've completed rank 6 of the battlesquare and have received the Club of Disruption.

The description of this item says it destroys undead and "outsiders?" if they fail a save.

First question, what is an outsider? Is it anything summoned? Elementals? I've either never heard of them or forgotten.

Second question, are drowned dead considered undead? I've clubbed the hell out of two or three and nothing happens to them. Are their saving throws really high or something?

Which monsters does this club work really good on?

Outsiders are anything that isnt from this plane and/or uses energy from other planes to survive. High level monks, aasimon, daemons, elementals, and so on and so forth.

And drowned dead are definatley supposed to be undead, as I was able to turn them in IWD1. They should be vulnerable to the club of disruption. You can turn on combat roll display in the feedback menu, this will show you if they are making saves or not.

The BG2 Mace of Disruptions is awesome versus high level undead like vampirces, liches and the like. I suspect the Clud of Disruption will be the same.

Yep, that club was very handy indeed, especially in Kuldahar. That and the Hammer of Lucerne really cleaned the place up fast

Same for me regarding Drowned Dead. They are supposed to be undead but reacted like living creatures when hit by the club. I think this is sort of a bug in IWD 2.
Otherwise this club works GREAT on undead !!!

[/QUOTE]Glad I'm not the only one. The club does little damage so I've stopped even trying to use it against the drowned dead. Note to all.

In HOF mode, there are two types of drowned dead: your run of the mill drowned dead, and the nastier festering drowned dead. From my experience, the club ONLY works on the nastier variety and not the regular drowned dead. I can't remember if the nastier variety shows up on normal difficulty or not. Shadows also appear to be immune to the effects of the club as it doesn't appear that they ever make any saves against disruption. The Boneguards DO appear to be subject to the clubs effects.

ALL of the "outsiders" (Cornugons, Glabrezu and Abishai, both the red and white variety, as well as ELementals) ARE subject to disruption from the club. Some of them appear to be make their saves a LOT easier, however.
