Hey everyone!
I have this Paladin character that just attained 4th level, so theoretically should be able to cast spells. He has prepared some first level spells, should be all ready to go - but I can't figure out how to cast them? My mage has a pretty obvious button to access her spells, but this does not seem to be there for the paladin - and his special abilities button doesn't access spells either? Anyone? Wily |

A couple of reasons:
1. Is your pally's WIS above 10? IIRC, Spell casting is limited to casting spells of a level equal to WIS-10. This a Pally with a WIS of 12 would be limited to level 1 & 2 spells. This is also true for all spellcasters, except that you base it on their primary spellcasting stat (i.e. a Wizard with an INT of 14 could only cast up to level 4 spells, etc.) 2. The button bar is configurable. If your pally doesn't have a the "3 stars and half moon" casting button, right-click on a button that you're willing to replace and you'll have a set of new buttons come up. Either Left click on the one that you want to accept or right click to drill down further. If you're not familiar with this new option in IWD2, load your game and pause it. Then just play around with it a bit ti become familiar with it. If you happen to screw something up and are unable to figure out how to fix it, just reload. |

Wisdom is 20 - but configuring the buttons is what the problem was, so I think I'm all set now.
Thanks! Wily |

Are you sure paladins need WIS? I thought they used INT like clerics.

Just right click on any of the quick buttons (one you want to replace) Then left click on the Magic Icon. You could continue right clicking to go further (for instance creating a quick cure light wounds button).
