I can't even get in here......I bow to your RPG prowness and expertise

My party is level 7 & 8. I thought I did all the quests and assignments given to me prior to getting here. I'm playing a mostly good party with a barbarian,fighter, ranger, cleric, rogue and generalist wizard. Normal difficulty. Used up every one of my extra heal potions and my cleric's healing spells.

I tried going in the front of the temple with uhh...Sherincal and her little welcoming bunch but that ended horribly with all party members dying.....it didn't seem to be a fair fight...hehe...with that blankety-blank Crystal Golem pounding endlessly on my front line fighters.

So I then tried going in the back door entrance into the Abishal Den....I agreed to help them and ended up fighting Lysata (who died pretty quickly, actually), a whole room full of assorted spellcasters, and a #@#!!% *CHAMPION* Crystal Golem who squished 3 of my front line into puddles of dented armor. The Abishal demonlings, who were supposed to be "helping" me, did not touch the golem at all. And When the last of the evil spellcasters were finally dust, the blood lusting demon-Abishals ganged up on my last two survivng party members, and it was not very pretty to see......

*Any* strategy tips would be welcome here......or helpful criticisms, even.

Yeah, that's a bugger. This is how I did it:

What you have to whack: There is a hidden Crystal Golem and a "wandering" crystal golem. There is that undead dude. There are two Dragon Cult necromancers. There are those floaty things with swords. The queen Remorhas & the ice chicks. THen the big battle.

This is from memory of a week ago:, so parts may be out of order.

Ok. First, I whacked the wandering crystal golem via the most northern route. PRIOR to getting the necklace from the dead Neverwinter troop. You've GOT to use BLUNT weapons.

Then I whacked the queen remorhaz with missile weapons and skull traps and lightingbolts. That also wreaked havoc with the ice chicks. That released the undead dude, who got flamed and chopped.

Then I cam back and fragged the necromancers - flaming oil, fireball spells, hold person, potions of fiery buring, etc. while they were "blue." They just fried and died.

Then the "hidden" crystal golem got his butt whacked too.

Then came the showdown battle. This was a toughie. First, I softened up the area with some AOE spells and potions. Then I used as much magic on her henchmen as possible while concentrating missile fire on her.

I had one KIA. And numerous problems with dragon fear, etc.

The first time I fought her, my entire party was KIA. Just remember - she's a half-breed BLUE dragon. Most spells won't work on her. You need electrical resistance or elemental damage resistance, but even that's pretty useless.

I'm playing the game with 6 chars a dwarf fighter, aasimar druid,
aasimar cleric, halfling rogue, sunelf wizard and drow bard. I had them around the 7-8
level before the sherincal encounter and it proved to be only a minor
setback. My tactics were the following:
First right after i talked to sherincal i waited for the barbarian and soarsman
to come rushing forward since sherincal ran back they were cutdown where
they stood. After that i concentrated my fighter,druid (in panther form),shooting rogue
and cleric on sherincal while keeping bard and sorcerror occupied with her lackeys.
I cast hold person and sleep spells at them while making sure my fighters could scale
the stairs after sherincal with well timed shots by the bard. This way Sherincal fell rather
soon as did some of the frostlackeys when the necros showed up my fighters were
allready done with Sherincal and concentrated on them till the golem showed at which
moment they all switched to bludgeoning weapons and with the help of my mage's quarter
staff dispatched it pretty quickly.

I did have to load about twice before i got the attack right but then most of my party
emerged with only slight wounds. (except the fighter and druid ofcourse)

First you have to kill the necromeancers and the golem in order to have a easier fight with Sherincal. It is better to know that your back is safe, don't you?
First kill Sherincal's minions with what you can (no special strategy here) .Notice that every stair has a switch that you must hit with a ranged weapon in order to climb the stairs.
Sherincal in VERY vulnerable to FIRE. So have your sorcerer do the job. Cast Mirror Image then Stoneskin and go to face Sherincal. Use Sunfire or fireball or Aghanazzar's Scorcher and she eventualy go down.
Don't enter the Abishai Chamber if you are wounded. They will attack you. If all your party members are at full health it is safe.

i just made my necromancer memorise five fireball spells and hit her with them. no one else had to touch her. my fighters may have hurt her before she ran up those stairs, but yes. fireball works very well.

Just found out that the crystal gollumn is *very* vulnerable to Spiritual Hammer (+20 dmg!!!)

Yip, I think it must be blunt weapons in general. Three hits from my monk's fist and crystal golems go....
