The portraits are ugly

The portraits are ugly I cant find a good bard and human rogue. blonde cleric is nice. brown cloaked mage too. also the knight. and the dwarf. the rest males are all stupid. I miss bg2 portraits. there's no portraits directory in IWD2?? I cant find. where to download good portraits thanks help

YOu have to register, if you haven't already. They don't do anything to you. No mailing lists. No spam. No telemarketing.

btw, there is a portraits gallery! how else would we be able to see them ingame if they didn't reside somewhere?

look for a folder designated as "characters"....

If you make a folder in your main IWD directory called portraits it works just fine. IIRC none of the IE games had a portraits folder by default, you always had to create it. Keep in mind the portraits are a different size in IWD II, so your BG, IWD1 portraits won't work

By the way I wouldn't say that the portraits were ugly. In my case, they just did not fit my preseption of what my character(s) would look like.

Dude I think the portraits are great!!

The thing about all the IWD portraits is that they're all much more deeper pieces of art than those used in BG. Yes some are taken from proportionally larger images but (I think) they work very well.
Compared to the very nice but simplistic and often 'cartoonish' ones of Baldurs Gate these, are a welcome change. They suggest a background, a history to your character and usually the image alone is enuf for me to generate the full Player - stats and all. The images themselves are very medieval/renaissance in style, some are really beautiful and some are almost kinda scary which is great if that's the character your looking for.
Basically 'Long live the IWD portraits!!'

as I said above, there's only 3 appropriate portraits for me. the rest is, not my style.. there isnt any ranger as I want. no rogue as I want I'll take a look to these sites thank you
