So what's everone's favourite weapon?
I like the Celebrant's blade; Pale Justice for a Paladin. Non-magical, Bastard Sword and missile: slings are very useful for mages and such. |

Mine would be a long sword of asskicking +1000000
er... it should also deal +5 damage against undead and 5% chance to stun opponent for 4 rounds...

You are mistaken ZFR... long sword of asskicking will be boring after several minutes of playing

ZFR,
ROTFL! Actually, I would laugh even harder if there were boots sporting this name... ~ (minor spoilers ahead) ~ ~ ~ ~ Pale Justice. No other weapon rivals it; and no other weapon, that is usable for any reasonable length of the game, even comes close enough to eat its dust. This is THE weapon that makes a Pally an excellent investment for taking along on the expansions. The Celebrant's (or is it Cerebrant's?) Blade, Conlan's Hammer, Misery's Herald, and The Giving Star are all weapons that my party, even now in TotLM, owns and loves. There are also some excellent bows and at least one very good sling. My favorite piece of equipment is not technically a weapon; but I think of it as one: The Bardic Horn of Valhalla. -------------------- What's a party, without a song? Bards ROCK! Party On!! Sword of Action +4...this sword might be better than Pale Justice for your Pally--because of that extra attack (it also gives some physical protection as well.) This sword comes later, so the Pale Justice will do until then!
Three White Doves [mace +3]: Undead don't stand a chance...since there are soo many undead...this is good. Morning Star +4: Defender: this one is random and a bit slow, but it gives great protection so it give you time to make hamburger. Messenger of Sseth (long bow +1): Great spell disrupter = FAST! The Celebrant's Blade (axe +4) for the Dwarf in you [Benorg's Truth would be nice, but don't you have to import that item?] AND Redemption (hammer +4)--best hammer for later IWD game (random) [Conlan's Hammer for earlier game.] And finally...yes, I'm trying a Bard again in order to build a powerful DC Mage (dagger) & a Druid (scimitar)...The Bardic Horn of Valhalla. Tip for the The Bardic Horn of Valhalla: after you call the Berserker Warriors: save your game, exit, start back up...then you can control them (sneaky of me--I know.) |

I prefer weapons that give an AC bonus, extra attack, or do extra damage.
The +4 Longsword of Action is good for any warrior or rogue class, but you don't get it until TOTL. Without HOW or TOTL intalled, I always liked the +2 Defender Axe. You get it relatively early in the game and it's a good ranger weapon since the AC bonus slightly offsets not using a shield. Messenger of Sseth is my favorite bow, because of the extra attack. It's good for disrupting spellcasters. |

Too many to decide.
Bearing in mind where in the game you get it, I'll go with the Messenger of Sseth. Beyond that, I'll tag along with Roboghost. I'm also in love with the various stunning weapons.

jmsteven:
Long Sword of Action +4 is picked off a dead body... . . . . . ...after a fight in town in HoW--not TOTL. |
