I was just wondering, does anyone else use this spell much? I really only used it once to find out where the items for the severed hand were....
And also, does wisdom affect the comments or replies you get? Because in BG2 something was similar to that and required wisdom.... just wondering... Cheers, Moiraine Sedai

The Oracle spell has one very specific use in HoW. Aside from that it's utility is general in nature. Spoilers:
. . . . . . . . . . . . The spell can be used to find out the True name of the Demon on Burial Isle. If he is confronted with his true name, he converts himself into a suit of armor that can be used without risk. He can still be forced into the armor form without his true name, BUT the armor is not so user friendly if that happens. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Contact other plane spell can help in solving some of the quest. Usually it just gives details of quest in the area. Most information you can end up figuring out on your own. Another useful quest besides the one Micah listed that it helps solving is below. Many people usually miss this quest so contact other plane helps.
- - - - - - - - You can also use "contact other plane" spell to figure out the details of freeing Ginafae in Lower Dorms. When you are in the Severd Hand it tells the location of the Book of Mythril (Book mage is looking for) |

Is there any way to make it more user friendly if you didn't get his true name *before* converting him to armour?

Sorry, but once you have the armour you are stuck. Either you get it from the demon by utlizing his true name (in which case the armor does NOT explode and is actually a decent set of armor) OR you force him to serve without knowing his true name (in which case the armor is best sold). There are no other options unless you utilize the cheat codes for the good set.
