Ranger Ability - Tracking

Ok, my ranger just got this ability, tracking, and it doest say what it does, so can smeone tell me? does it reveal the map? does it show enemy locations? what does it do? thanks.

Tracking ability gives you information about the types of monsters found on a given map.

or in some instances exactly were they are located.

It isn't the must useful ability but I found it fun from a role playing aspect.

Just use it in locations that you enter, it will tell you nothing or give you some useful information.

For instance in one area of a yeti cave, or as soon as you enter Vale of the dead it will describe yeti tracks, but also those of an elf who appears to be lightly dressed for this area since the tracks are not as deep as they should be. Interesting?? So were can I find this elf?

Well you get the idea, just have fun with it.

Maybe the barmaid is the elf.. you never learn her race. I do like this skill, i used when i first entered Dragons Eye, and it told me i saw troll prints, lizardmen, some humans, and that the prints look as if they had left about a day go and had come back. something like that, i dont remember the exact words.

You are correct Xero279 it is the barmaid that it is talking about. You know this from the various clues both given in the tracking skill.

As well I believe her name is on the necromacer's list in Dragon's eye which gives more detail into her background as an elf. With tracking it just says something like "possibly an elf".
