Seems I did something dumb. I attacked Larrel and in the process killed the mage that works on the Astrolab. Is there anyway to do it if i did this or am I in trouble?

Hmmmm, well the simplest solution would be to play from a previous saved game (before you killed the nice mage)if you have one. If not you might ask around the forum for someone else who does.
Out hunting Orc. Will be back in an hour. Vixen

Reloading from a previous save is the best and easiest way to solve your problem.
You could probably use the cheat codes to recreate a new version of Larrel's buddy and/or change Larrel's Modal state to Non-hostile ... but I have NO clue as what the proper global variables are to do that.

If you attacked Larrel, then you are...how does one phrase it politely...out of luck. There are no global variables that could be reset that would restore Larrel into a more friendly state. You must either 1) reload a previous saved game or 2) find some way of making Larrel's circle green or blue again. Since Larrel cannot be killed (and I suspect he cannot be charmed, either) your best bet is to load a saved game or use the CLUA console to cheat yourself to AR6000.
Let us know how it turns out.

Your autosave from before attacking Larrel's buddy has been written over?
Sorry for the bad info about the globals. Azred is MUCH more knowledgeable about the internal modal states and global variable than I am.
