I have come across this bollox and I can't seem to even touch him. My party is a Lvl 40 Monk and Sarevok at Lvl 30. I cannot use magic to lower his resistance and so I cannot hit him. Am I wasting my time trying? I was thinking of getting Edwin or Aerie to lower his resistance would this work? Thanks

You don't need to lower his resistance since you will be physically attacking him. You need to remove his protections. Rod of Reversal is your only hope I think. Or you can GWW him until his protections are destroyed.

He uses Aura of flaming death so protect from fire (and from everything else you can ).

AFAIK Improved Demogorgon uses AoFD but he is fighting "standard" baboon king.

Use Ruby Ray of Reversal-from the Rod-and hack away with GWW and WW. And have a lot of healing potions.

Well, I got Edwin cos I reckon I needed a Mage. I will give it another go. At least he can use the rods of Breach and Pierce Magic. I thought there was a bug that Monks could use wands? I did before. anyway...thanks

Get Edwin to use improved haste on your two main fighters then protection spells/protection from magic weapons (very important!!!) on himself.

Get him to literally stand in front of demogorgan and absorb his attacks whilst blasting down his spell protections with ruby ray.

The monk and Sarevok can simply beat the living snot out of Demogorgon whilst he wastes his attacks up on Edwin.

Easy stuff

Ah well. thanks for that. I did kill him eventually. What I did was move Sarevok and Edwin into position to as far as they could go to the left of Demog and then brought main char down. I then used Ed to cast Breach, Ray etc on your man while I ran around the place dodging the Mariliths and Demo. As soon as Demogorgons protections were gone I had Sarevok kill him with his Crossbow. Easy. Well not quite. It took a while.
