Throne of Bhaal Crash

Hey All,

I am playing through Throne Of Bhaal with my PC, a paladin, and Sarevok. During the battle at the siege camp, the game always crashes. Last night I had Yaga Shurga down to near death and then then the screen went black. Today it crashed almost as soon as the battle started (after he leaves for reinforcements and then returns.) No error message pops up and there is no way to get back into the game without restarting it.

Any ideas?

This is my setup:

Windows 2000
SOA latest patch
TOB latest patch
Latest Ascension release
Redemption

I also have the latest Tactics mod installed if that makes any difference.

Do you have latest Baldurdash patch?

I don't really know much about the BG patches as I have not installed any of them myself (I installed all the BG series on my old ME computer, which doesn't have internet connection on it, so I can't d/l patches on it, my only way of puting programs on it is by downloading on my XP, burning to a CD, and then using on my Millenium Edition computer). But my suggestion would be to uninstall all the patches and re-installing them.

Baldurdash ToB Fixpack v1.12.

These are the patches you need.

Thanks for the speedy reply.

However, none of these patches worked and I have since uninstalled Baldur's Gate 2. I wanted to reinstall everything but realized that I gave the SOA CD's to a friend to try out. Oh well thanks anyways.

P.S. Did anyone have trouble accessing the fourms yesterday? I couldn't connect all day.

Re-installing might be necessary, as I've looked at all of the individual fixes (that, when bundled together, make up the BaldurDash Fixpacks), and I don't recall seeing any that prevent crashes to the desktop. Still, a fresh install is usually for the better.

Just remember to install the patches and BaldurDash BEFORE any MODS.

And yes, the forums were down for me yesterday, too.

Do you happen to have the "Improved Yaga-Shura" component of Ascension installed ?? It warns you in the readme that your system may not cope with it, as it is very graphics intensive.

By not coping do you mean only on certain systems or an actual problem with creating the effects?

Radeon 9700 PRO
Windows 2000 SP3
512 DDR 266

That should be fine as long as it isn't a problem only on certain systems.

Update: I reinstalled the game and then reinstalled all mods. The game still crashed so I then unistalled Improved Yaga Shura and was able to continue after his defeat.
