The topic pretty much expains itself.
My personnal favorite wild surge was against Sendai. I casted nahals reckless dweomer with spider spawn, and the first surge was roll two more times. Of those two times, one was double spell effects, the other was roll 4 more times. Of those times, I believe two were double effects, so i ended up with like 9 sword spiders being summoned, against Sendai. Anyways, just wanted to know what everyones favorite wild surge was. Do spells fired via wild surges not check the summoning limit?

It's nowhere good as that story, but in testing the Amulet of Wild Magic (item from the Kelsey mod), I gave it to Nalia and had her try to Disintegrate a passerby in Athkatla.
Wild Surge: Target Self. Poof, no more Nalia.

Phase Spiders that had Melf's Minute Meteors. It felt good to have a pack of medieval machine-gunners in Jon Irenicus' Dungeon.
My only regret was that I forgot to take a screenshot. ![]() |

I liked the cow dropping on my head, which is pretty good. I also lost count of the number of times I changed my PC's gender

Hey, I thought for a moment this was posted by my wife. Sorry, Paladins don't have wild anything, surges or otherwise.

I just had my best wild surge 'till now ...
Was in the planar sphere and I had two wild mages summoning a lesser air elemental each. One casted normally, the other had a Wild Surge: Area effect. So now all 6 of us were summoning a lesser air elemental, and the wild mage that casted normally summoned two ! That's -7- ( all friendly luckilly ) lesser air elementals for the price of 2 [ 02-13-2003, 09:46 AM: Message edited by: daan ]

Heh. Love my Wild Mage. My best was something boring like 'roll 3 more times!' cast normally, cast normally, cast normally (on an Abi d's in the sewer 'flayer lair), or 'Spell cast and I feel refreshed' after expending everything including my Timestop.
What about your *worst* Wild Surges? Of the top of my head I can remember - - Area of effect Summon Fiend vs Mencar Pebblecrusher. Straight out of Jonny's dungeon, playing with casting spells above my level. 7 Gates. Beautiful. Got a screenshot somewhere. Shame all the fiends ate each other. - Casting Improved Chaos Shield in the vestibule of Improved Twisted Rune. Polymorphed self into a wolf. Doh. I engaged them like that - luckily one of the Runies obliged me with a Dispel Magic and my PC was back to normal, albeit a bit nekkid. - *Improved Irenicus Spoiler* - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - My Wild Mage's Simmy managed to surge the Dragon of Pride into a wolf. It was funny until the damn thing squeezed itself into my party's hiding place (the little corridor Jonny comes out of), then chain wing-buffetted us to death at point-blank range >_< |
