I made a mistake. Planetars do not cast Meteor Swarm, they cast Firestorm; which is a Priest spell, and one that seems to bypass Magic Resistance.

TeH Planetar!

I would personally say that it's broken.

Think of it as a high-level fighter/mage/cleric with resistances and immunities aplenty.

The spell Fire Storm is a lvl. 7 Priest-spell. Description:

Quote:

Fire Storm (Evocation)
Level: 7
Sphere: Elemental (Fire)
Range: 40 yards
Duration: 4 rounds
Casting Time: 1 round
Area of Effect: 20' radius
Saving Throw: None

When a fire storm spell is cast, the whole area is shot through with sheets of roaring flame and then pelted with fiery balls of lava. Creatures within the area of fire receive 2d8 points of damage plus one for each level of the caster (i.e. 2d8 +1/level). This assault will last for four rounds and will continue to do damage to the creature during that time unless he moves out of the area of effect. There is no saving throw versus this spell.

And according to Near Infinity, No dispel/Bypass resistance, Savetype: no save.

A planetar, which is just below a solar in the aasimon hierarchy. If you want more info on celestials, Luvian, click here for a thread I started quite some time ago.
