You might want to tell Sarevok that you may let him join your party later, then if you find you're kind of weak in fighting, or either Minsc or Keldorn isn't doing well then you can go back and have one of them stay in the plane while you take Sarevok into your group...

great input...
M and K kick butt...(at least they did in SoA)..I haven't really started out yet, I just saw everyone raving about Sarevok and was curious. M & K are both close to being level 18, so unless this guy is god, I don't see if its worth it. Special abilities, etc. K has true sight and is the only one who can weild the casomyr. And you gotta love Minsc. thus my dilema..

And Iomen being able to cast level 8 spells is a nice luxury. And how could I diss my sister?

I know this was on another string..but what special abilities does everyone like? it looks like whirlwind and deathblow are the best. My guy is a triple classed w/ thief, but I uses traps rarely and alchemy looks useless since I'm not a big potion man either. Assisignation looks cool but not as good as WW, GWW ,DB or GDB.

My favorite TOB ability would have to be 'use any item' because it has given me a berserker thief with grand mastery of Carsomyr, the ability to wear any specialty gear and the ability to cast spells from scrolls and use wands.
Second fav is spike traps which are so powerful that using them is almost cheating. Four of them will off a dragon. To get thru SOA as quick as possible I used them both times in chapt 7 against Irenicus, he died real quick.

Note: Most people keep Keldorn because of Carsomyr. 'Use any item' fixes that, letting you replace him with Sarevok if you want. I am considering dualling Saverok to thief so he can use Carsomyr.

That sounds very unlikely...[/QUOTE]Actually its true, it involves saying the right things, high rep, good chars and plenty of luck. Only a few people have had this happen. There is also a mod called a ascension made by one off the game designers david gaider and this mod actually forces the change from evil to good so its no longer a test of luck, at also forces Imoen into getting her bhaalspawn powers so you dont have to be lucky again

On another note Sarevok isn't the only char who's alignment can change others include:

1) You
2) Viconia (Evil to Neutral)
3) Anomen (lawful neutral to either lawful good or Chaotic Neutral)

P.S One more great thing about Sarevok

He has the deathbringer assault (this is a special attack that acts similar to a critical hit only more regular and does 200 damage)

depends how much you want to stick to alignment reality.....I had an all good party (except for Viconia who was too hot to pass up and who I knew could change alignment.......Saverok can too, but he is not as hot).......therefore I couldn't take him.
also, philosophically speaking, he is an arrogant !@#$% and therefore on principal I wouldn't take him.

Dump Minsc for Sarevok. Simple. Deathbringer assault is worth it. Give Sarevok the Silver Sword and watch him work...

at the moment in my SoA game I have Me a monk, Minsc, Keldorn, Yoshimo, Edwin and Aerie. I'm going to get rid of Yoshimo and replace him with Jan before I go to Spellhold. Also I want to keep this party in my ToB game and import my main character. Is it worth giving up the extra spellcaster and thief skills for the pure tank power of Sarevok?

I have detect traps on my monk and knock on the mages, but I have no way of disarming traps. Therefore I miss out on the extra experience from lockpicking and disarming traps. Again, is it worth it?

Fallen,
no, no, no, you *WANT* to take Yoshimo with you to Spellhold - he will *help* your party out with a certain special situation. Also, you could get Imoen and then dismiss her, but it might be more fun to keep Yoshimo with you until you can... trade... him for Imoen. Jan will wait for you in Amn. Just a thought (unless you've already played this game, in which case I'm wasting my time).

- Twilight

p.s. If you do take Yoshimo, remember that most found items have some purpose, even if later in the game.

How come Sarevok's a better fighter than Korgan? Cause of the 2Hswords grand mastery? bah, Axe of unyielding and crom-fayer will dish out just as much damge. Moreover, there are no +6 2handed swords he can use, so you'd have to get him a grand mastery in halberds anyhow.
