Playing a chaotic evil character (doesn't require any roleplaying, just being myself I coined a new term: Exp Whore. I found myself frequently helping pathetic morons with nothing to offer me except possibly rep *chokes* and EXP. But being chaotic evil and as such utterly self-serving I grabbed all the exp I could. From the outside, where exp is everything, time is a number in the bottom left of the screen and pain is nothing but a red-toned portrait, this is standard selfish behaivior. And not being as nasty to everyone as you _should be_ is just giving up "principles" for profit, the definition of CE. But seen from within the game, there's really not that much difference between me and Mr Nice-guy. Sad, really.

I've found myself with the same thoughts as of late on my evil game.

I want the experience and benefits of doing these quests - but it's appalling how much hiney I have to kiss.

When I was doing my Evil game, I consoled myself with the thought of taking these poor souls under my wing, helping them through their difficulties--and then smashing their skulls with my Warhammer as soon as they turned their back. You can actually betray a few people (such as Garren Windspear) like this. Of course, I was roleplaying Neutral Evil, which gives a lot more leeway than Chaotic, but it tickled me, running around doing so much Evil stuff, but fooling the entire nation of Amn into granting me a good Reputation. Those gibbering simpletons......

Blatant self-serving advertising here--
For my Evil party in BG1, do a Thread Title search for: I'm a Naughty Boy!
For my Evil party in BG2, do a search for: I'm STILL a Naughty Boy!

The other folks on the forum seemed to like them

Actually, if you're evil, there is finally a benefit if you have the Ascension mod installed...let's just say that you get some extra help in the final battle, and it's pretty powerful help, too.

SixOfSpades, that's some awesome work!
It's not just evil, it's evil with imagination, and while I consider myself to have some imagination, I never thought of the brutal actions not endorsed by the game engine (well, nymph cloak+cursed scroll of summoning did work a treat in BG1)
I'm tempted to replay (again) the game and try to outthink you in pure malevolent nastiness...not that I think I'll succeed...
Can't wait to read the ToB bit.

BTW, what is this about betrayals in windspear hills? I only ever played that one straight, I'm sorry to say.

Actually, there won't be a ToB Naughty Boy post, as the plot for ToB is so damn linear, there's really no options to express your Evilness at all. I suppose I could write up a post that says, "I killed every civilian in Saradush and Amkethran, and am now wearing Malla's Soul Stone," and that'd be it. Whoop dee doo. I suppose I could think up some more nasty death scenes for the few SoA NPCs who aren't technically dead: The Fate statues can bring back Jan, Cernd and a few others. But even so, there's just not enough freedom of expression to justify another Naughty Boy thread.

As for the Windspear Hills: There's a nice little Evil sub-quest in there, which I think is available if your PC is Neutral, too, but I know it's there if you're Evil. No, I'm not going to spoil you.

Well if you want to be really evil you could kill the people after you help them thats how I usually do it. You are all right though, the game just really wasn't made with evil characters in mind. I definitely think its unfortunate, condisering being evil is sooooo much fun. I mean what beats summoning a demon to kill all the commoners in a town square. Or killing a random begger, just for being there. Maybe I am a little off, but I find it vastly entertaining.

Well then, I'll just wait for "Naughty Boy in BG3"
The story seems to be just about used up, however. And we ran out of exp. levels quite a while back. Do you play any other AD&D games?

My main character is Evil (only because I went the evil way at the end of SoA) My Rep is 20, but all my NCM's in my party are Good and they love it. I couldn't just kill people, other wise my party would just leave me, and besides I'm getting to like that annoying little speech from Minsc chatting about Boo.
