Maybe I tried to finish Watcher's Keep too early, but I seem to have no chance of beating the last level.
At the part where you have the three keys to unlock the seal, each time you unlock a seal, you get attacked by a Guardian.
The first two I unlocked were OK, but the last one releases a Beholder, along with about 6 or 7 really tough guys, including a woman surrounded with fire. I simply can't get through this without dying. I haven't finished SoA yet. Should I come back to this, or is there a trick.
I know I can just run past them and into the portal, but I'm sure the Demogorgon will kick my butt if I can't even beat these guys.

I did the keep except for that part and waited a bit into TOB to do it. I do not think you actually can run into the portal till you kill them all. The modthode I used to get that last group is as follows if you want it.

Since you know where each of them spawn I set some summon Mosters between the beholder and the group setting them up a bit north of the Geni that pops in. I also had a diva summoned When they popped in I put everyone except the monsters on the genie then the girl. The monsters went to the beholder. They held him of long enough for me to get the other two down. Then I went after him then the others. Hope this helps

Thanks once again Lanthir, I will try the summoning process and see how I go. By the way, you can go through the portal without killing them, but I feel like I've cheated the game (as well as missing out on items and XP)

Lanthir, I know Aviendha was asking for information / spoilers but I'd suggest mentioning that in your reply header. I have finished the game, but might just spoil it for someone who hasn't

I did that battle late in the game.It is tough.
I suggest you wait untill you have wiped out Sendai and Abazigal before going there.

Grindar,
Sorry Grindar I kinda assumed that if the person is asking for help that anyone who reads the post would assume that the answers would include help. My bad

My method for that fight (apart from the usual summoning some stuff and casting buffing spells, of course) was simply to take the right-hand guys out first. They're mostly stong-offense, weak-defense guys: An Archer, a Kensai, and a Druid, whereas the guys on the left cast things like Stoneskin and Protection from Magical Weapons. So if you can take out their right flank FAST and HARD, you've pretty much won.
Just watch out for the Hive Mother and that damn Succubus (or whatever she was.....)

Lanthir,

No need to apologize. I could have made my remark a little less strong too *my bad perhaps* I know you didn't mean wrong, just that I have seen some conversations on didfferent boards evolve in shouting matches because of this. Apparently there are always people stupid enough not to realize that spoilers may be in help requests and then start screaming when they read spoilers/cheats.

I was soloing a female elven Theif/Mage in SoA. I took a detour to Watchers Keep before going off to Spellhold. Not sure what level I was at, but I had already gotten some high-level powers (like Set Spike Trap) so I was close to 20th level thief by that point.

I set as many spike traps as I could near the Succubus, Marilith, Archer, Druid and Kensai. (they seemed to be the hardest to kill). Succubus and Archer went down immediately. I had summoned Mordenkain's swords and some Skeleton Warriors beforehand - they finished off the Marilith and kept the Hive Mother busy. The hardest of the bunch was that dang Kensai.

Took me three or four reloads but they went down... I didn't take on Demogorgon though. (this was my 3rd run through the game and I knew I couldnt beat him soloing). Watchers Keep was quite challenging from a solo perspective!
