Well, i'm currently still in SOA and i was planning on kicking Valygar out for Sarevok in TOB. However, now he turned out to be a great fighter. Much better then Minsc in my opinion. Should i keep Minsc or Valygar?

Hi, Dreamer, how's Faerun's one and only Drow Paladin? IMHO, Minsc as better because of his higher STR. Valygar does have a better DEX. Only reason I'd pick Valygar over Minsc would be if he was annoying me. He never does, but there are some anti-Minsc people out there. Personally, I took Valygar through TOB the only time I did it single-player, and he annoyed the crud out of me. And, he argues with Nalia.

Well, at least i'm original
Minsc and Valygar both anoy me in different ways but since Minsc is specialized in Two-handed swords (just as my Ranger and Sarevok) and Valygar is the ultimate Dual wielder i think Val. is the better choice.

Hi

Just my two cents.... I love MINSC... his dialogues are so much fun.
Minsc and Boo are unstopable fun.
Try him using a Two handed Silver sword (VORPAL) and he can do BIG damage.
Good luck

I had Minsc in my party until I came across Sarevok. Minsc is just so funny to listen to. I Have Edwin also and some of their conversations are hilarious!! Edwin seems to infatuated with Minsc's hamster....I had Minsc with the Mana bow+4. I like have at least 4 missile's going and 2 fighters. I have a mostly evil party just because I think they're the best NPC's. I have Korgan who dual weilded axes until I got Crom Faeyar. Now he's dual weilding War Hammers. Also Edwin who I think is the best mage...he has such high int. and he can cast so many spells. I also have Viconia who's a great Cleric. Then I have Imoen who is also my 2nd mage. And then myself, a Priestess of Lathander.

VALYGAR!

His backstabbing becomes truely powerful later in the game, while Minsc is like a lamer Sarevok (with bonus butt-humor).

One rogue's opinions...

Ill agree with Nifft, Valygar would b my choice 2.... If u get him early in the game and give him Celestial fury all u need is a mage with greater Malison and when he attacks he stuns them quite often... but of course in ToB the stun is almost usless....

The Valygar vs Minsc decision really comes down to how do you want to play that character in that slot.

If you want a backstabbing scout, Valygar's your man.

If you just want a solid, traditional tank, then you should lean towards Minsc (and Boo!!). Sarevok is definitely a more dangerous and tougher tank than Minsc, but then you'd miss out on all that Minsc humor.
