I too am a bit stuck at this point. The problem with him seems to be:

He casts Stoneskin and Prot from magic Weapons etc quite frequently. Not just the once at the start.

Even if I lower resitance and cast pierce sheild none of my spells seem to have any effect.

Damn bloody Invisible stalkers!!!! He summons them quite freguently and they always go after my wizards. This obviously disrupts spell casting a little bit.

I tried the planetar trick to kill his first form but then he casts something called "Death Field" which seems to kill the Planetar instantly! I thought they were immune to death magic? I also tried luring him across a field of traps but it appears to do very little damage.

Just out of curiosity more than anything... are all the guys in this lair as hard as he is?

? I never had problems with his Human form. One Deva/Planetar always managed to kick his butt. It is the Dragon form that gives you more problems.

Oh, and when I have a party, I usually use the Chain Contingency Bomb method to kill Draconis the Dragon. It is swift, easy to use and hurts him like Hell.

The invisible stalkers shouldn't give you much grief at this stage of the game. The simplist ways to get rid is to cast death spell, which slays them instantaneously.

Agree with the true sight to dispel his invisibility

OK fine. I just about managed to kill him, but I had to be cheesy I am afraid. I laid as many traps as possible and lured him over them - that sorted his puffed up dragon arse out.

The problem I have, no offense intended, with the advice given is that it is all well and good saying: "cast spell strike, breach, lower resistance, death spell, 3x Abi Dalzim, etc" is when do you get the time?

I have three fairly good mages in my party (PC bard, Jan, and Edwin) yet I still seem to be unable to cast all of these and make an impact before he casts heal. Am I unusual in thinking that casting these spells, even with spell triggers, takes more time than you have against someone like Draconis? Just a brief question for the pros out there.

This is really odd... I never had problems with him myself. With any magic dispelling weapon, stoneskin is done. Dispel Magic will make it go away as well. I'm not sure if I died the first time I fought him or not... I was a kensai/thief though, dualed in ToB, so fairly high level kensai with excellent armour. I just kept pounding the crap out of him with my dragon stopping halfing... The Answer/Sword that does double damage on dragons dualed with Black Razor kept him from lasting long. I just dispelled his stoneskins and kept on hitting him.

I don't remember him using Protection from Magical Weapons much. lol, even if he does, just hit him with non-magical versions after you dispelled stoneskin.

I might have sent in some summoned critters with my halfling though, I can't remember. It was a while ago. lol

You are supposed to prepare your Spell Triggers and Chain Contingencies before the battle, then rest. Time Stop and Improved Alacrity will help too.
