I hear alot of stories about people dualing all kinds of fighter kits into mages. I wonder if anyone exctually multi'd one? If so, how good are they?

Playing a multi-classed character is just as good. The only drawback is the slow advancement. Sharing experience points drags out leveling up. With the experience cap what it is though, you shouldn't have a problem gaining levels.

Also a F/M multi has access to the HLA of both classes unlike the dual F/M..

This is of course VERY debatable, but I think that a fighter mage is one of the better or stronger classes in the Game. With both magic and good physical attacks, as well as HLA of both classes, who can go wrong??
Anyone else agree?

Btw I mean multi-classed F-M, haven't played dual, and i think multi would be better anyway...

im doing a f/m in soa right now. edwin is my main mage so he gets the robe of vecna. my char is wearing the bracers ac3 until the better elven chains show up. before ive never had more than one mage, concentrating on offensive and disabling spells. same thing here but the f/t uses all those spells i never bothered with since my mage was never in combat. a fighter with mantle or prot from normal/magical weapons more than compensates for a mediocre armor class, and stoneskins are absolutely beautiful despite looking like a statue. he also keeps some breaches on hand so edwin doesnt have to bother with it. eventually ill have a fighter with greater whirlwind and time stop... very nice.

Stop time and use the greater whirlwind attacks and stop time again.
Good against all but demigods
