I would have to say that level 5 would be the ABSOLUTE earliest you should go into Durlag's "Basement". I would actually recomend that your party be at level 6 and very close to level 7. I usually head down to Durlag's after I have finished most of the side-quests within the game. I must also warn you that it is imperative that you have a thief in your party, and good one for that matter. The Tower is filled with traps, puzzles, difficult enemies, and lots of rewarding treasure. Hope this helps.

I would also recommend going into the tower with about 70k XP (this means lvl 6-8, depending on the character classes). Even in these level, the tower is a good chalange. Lvl 5 I only would recommend, if you finished the tower in earlier games a few times. Maybe then it is possible to beat Durlag´s traps

I think that until you get to the final basement your sucess in Durlag's Tower you sucess depends mostly on the shoulders of your thief. When you go down to fight the "you know what" then all bets are off and it takes team effort like you read about

HOW TO KNOW WHEN YOURE READY FOR DURLAG'S TOWER:
When you can get all the way to the entrance of the Tower without being hacked into little bitty pieces by the Battle Horrors, you're ready for the fights. When your Thief has at least 85% in Find Traps and Pick Locks, you're ready for the Traps.

Hrm, I started the Tower when my thief was at level 6/7 but....I put too much of my theiving skills bonuses on Stealth! With the stealth boots I've got on it's at like 125% and all my other skills are at a measly 45%
![]() How many more levels with Imoen can I raise her to? I've got TOSC, but does the 100,000+ point limit apply to characters you're using in the original game (er not before that mission pack thingy right before you beat Sarevok. You know, that save that comes with the install or something....and are there more things in that add-on besides a beefed up Sarevok? I'm really really confused as to just what the "Tales of the sword coast part" means. Because Durlag's tower is a TOSC only thing but it's not part of the mission pack save or..SOMETHING....W#$(%)#@()5!). Anyway, can I raise 2-3 more levels with her and get detect traps up to 90+% or not? [ 09-16-2002, 11:24 AM: Message edited by: n00body ]
