Does the Juggernaut golem have any redeeming qualities compared to the Clay? I mean, clays are fast, mean, and virtually invulnerable to anything but the high-end blunt weapons, whilst Juggernauts are slightly faster, slightly meaner, and get chopped into play-doh by even a small group of more competent enemies in a matter of seconds...

its only ever useful as a diversion since most enemies can mince any summoned creature in seconds so i just left it a flesh golem through the game.

rod of smiting....+10 vs golems, must save vs. death or be destroyed.

Golems shouldn't be a problem ever again.

...serves me right for forgetting to mention the important bits...

I'm talking about the book of golems.... is it worth upgrading it after the clay golem page? True, they're no wonder constructs, but they serve well enough to keep non-mage enemies occupied while I regroup....

Stick to Clay.

They are extremely good as distractions to non-magical-blunt-wielding opponents. Not to mention they are magic-immune... ...

You guys are wrong. Any summoned creature is very useful is you know how to use them. A wizard could waste his symbal stuns and fears and wails of banshees on a summoned creature and if u allow melee attacks to be on your fighter with best AC, golems can make a killing.

For magic intensive battles, I prefer using Skeleton Warriors. True, the mage will cast Death Spell, but the mage only has one Death Spell, after that... ... BwerWahHAHAHAHA!!!!

Throw it all at 'em! Golems, skeletons, gnolls, spiders, rabid rabbits, hamsters and of course the deadly kitchen sink mimic! Dominate and charm their minions too. Here's a plus. Viconia controls the undead she turns instead of destroying them! Hack and slash your way to fortune! Woo-Hoo!

The only problem is, the clay looks alot more effective than it really is. I think that alot of monsters do blunt and whatever type of damage, because my clay golems are always coming back from battle near death or dead. Juggernaut golems are marginally better. By the slimmest of margins. Basically, I haven't found any item-summon to be very useful. With the exception of the ranger-dog's moon lick, they're abilities suck too.
