Istvan DiVega for TOB

I just finished TOB,and when I start my next game I am going to plan to start from TOB not BG2. If anyone is familiar with the character Istvan Divega from the books of Paul Edwin Zimmer I need their input as I wish to create my next character to be an Istvan DiVega clone.I am looking for portraits,opinions on what class this character should be what proficiencies (planning on Bastard swords so I can use Foesbane),what his primary character rolls should be in; any extraneous information or input anyone has will be considered. I considered playing Ingulf,but that would be playing a Chaotic Neutral character and I am not certain I can do that.Thanks in advance.

In the books Istvan was originally an archer. But seeing as archers are a required taste, I would put him down as a straight fighter.
